Prairie Schooners carried immigrants from Missouri and Kansas to western destinations such as California. These journeys of nearly 3,000 km often lasted up to six months. Groups of horse- or oxen-drawn wagons travelled in caravans, circling the wagons at night to corral livestock while watchmen stood guard. This project may be built as illustrated or expanded with additional oxen. The plans are printed on four large sheets measuring 86 x 112 cm (34 x 44 in.). Finished dimensions are approximately 23 cm (9 in.) high, with a base length of 66 cm (26 in.) including two oxen. All measurements are in inches.
